Ross has always had an interest in photography starting when he was a young child but his real passion for photography started in the early 80's with his first Pentax SLR Camera.

From the mid 80's Ross worked his way through a variety of SLR cameras and took his passion overseas while travelling through Europe for five years. While living in Hertfordshire England Ross purchased a set of Bowen's studio lights and his first Nikon SLR camera and began to learn the art of fine portraiture. He started taking photos professionally for various European tourist magazines while living in the Greek Islands.





After completing his O.E. in the early 90's he returned to New Zealand where he decided to set up a studio in Taupo to further perfect his techniques of fine portraiture and studio work that he had developed in England.





Since then his work has been varied and fulfilling from corporate to magazine and brochures, weddings, commercial and real estate. Time spent as a press photographer for both local and national publications lead to an interest in photo-journalism.





With an eye for photo-journalism Ross has adapted his style and now focuses solely on wedding photography, a field that is his greatest passion. Most of the weddings he shoots are around the Central Plateau region at locations such as the Bayview Chateau Tongariro, Huka Lodge, Terraces Hotel, Millennium Hotel & Resort Manuels, Oreti Village Pukawa, Tongariro Lodge and many other top locations.





With 20 years experience Ross's aim when shooting a wedding is to capture the essence of the day, the details and emotion that will ensure that the wedding couple gets a comprehensive memory of their wedding day. From ensuring that the surroundings of the venue are captured to the detail in the brides dress, flowers or table settings, Ross's passion is to photograph the day to his exacting standards.
